Choosing Between Lobster Restaurants

If you’re feeling the need to get your regular lobster fix but don’t know where to go, there are a few options when it comes to chain lobster restaurants. Of course if you live near the coast your best bet is to go to any of the smaller local seafood restaurants, as these are likely to have excellent and very fresh lobster at a reasonable price. If you live somewhere along the Pacific or Atlantic coasts of North America chances are you have access to some of the freshest seafood imaginable.

If the locally owned seafood restaurant is not an option then you’re next possibility is a chain seafood restaurant. There are lower-to-mid level and mid-level seafood restaurants that carry lobster in addition to their other seafood dishes. With most of the chain seafood restaurants you can expect similar prices regardless of location, though chain seafood restaurants do tend to give smaller portions in areas that are not close to the ocean.

Places like Long John Silver’s and Captain D’s are just going to carry something like lobster. The cheapest option when it comes to bargain lobster is going to be somewhere like Red Lobster. Though you probably won’t get a lot of lobster for your money, the lobster is generally quite good and reasonably priced. Again, if you’re in a city near the sea, don’t settle for Red Lobster. It’s okay, but you’re wasting money and not getting the freshest seafood possible if you opt for Red Lobster when you’re right smack dab next to the water.

Pappadeaux is a good in between when it comes to service and freshness as well as affordability. Pappadeaux seafood restaurants are much better than Red Lobster and similarly priced. You’ll probably spend a little more, but this is more than made up for by the freshness of the lobster as well as the atmosphere and personalized customer service.
